ABOUT BRIAN RIVERA

Design runs through my veins.

My journey began at age five, when I crafted a city out of Legos and dirt, with twigs as “trees.” To me, it was a thriving metropolis. I’d passionately declare, “NOBODY TOUCH IT,” and for weeks, my city stood undisturbed in the humid backyard behind our Miami home. My fascination with city-building and architecture was evident from a young age. I even constructed little homes from sticks for my sister’s Barbie dolls, and my parents were wise enough to let my creations be, despite the mess I made.

This early passion evolved into a formal pursuit of Architecture. At fourteen, I enrolled in a Vocational High School Program with a Dual-Enrollment option to study Architecture at Miami-Dade College. I fell in love with drafting, model-making, and rendering—everything that shapes our world.

After five years of intense study and earning a Master’s Degree from Florida International University, I fulfilled my dream and moved to New York City.

The core of my extensive experience began at Goshow Architecture in New York, where I collaborated with talented Architects on major projects, including Hunts Point, the largest civil project in NYC, and campus expansions at Stony Brook University.

I gained diverse experience across various sectors, from public and institutional projects to private residential developments along the iconic High Line in Manhattan.

My career took a significant leap at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), where I excelled in Project Management and Construction Administration. I worked on every aspect of large-scale structures, from initial concepts to detailed architectural execution.

During this period, I also engaged in mentorship with the AIA, both receiving guidance and providing it, which enriched my understanding of the profession and helped others advance in their careers.

Seeking better weather and an exciting opportunity at the largest residential architecture firm in the U.S., KTGY Architecture, I relocated to Los Angeles in 2021.

Southern California provided the perfect environment (both literally and figuratively) for me to immerse myself in residential architecture and wood construction. My projects spanned from high-density mixed-use towers to custom coastal homes, each designed to meet the unique demands of our clients.

It was in Los Angeles that I began to assemble a dedicated team to manage my own growing client base and expanding workload, which included everything from retail store designs to private residential and development projects. Clients who mutually share the belief that superior design leads to better outcomes and greater profitability for stakeholders.

We are committed to prioritizing quality in design and to delivering on the trust placed in us. We are now a growing team with large and small projects taking over Southern California. Excelling in providing quality design aesthetic that is buildable and can last – just like my Lego creations from childhood.
